Is Jovara live today?

Not yet. Jovara is in active development with a first field season starting Rabi 2026-27 (October 2026 to March 2027), in pilot with FPO and state-department partners. Pilot districts will be announced closer to the season.

What languages does Jovara support?

Jovara is in development; the voice line opens in Rabi 2026-27. Twelve Indic languages are targeted: Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Gujarati, Urdu, Kannada, Odia, Malayalam, Punjabi, and Assamese. The voice line will work over IVR (no smartphone needed), WhatsApp, and the Android app.

Does a farmer need a smartphone to use Jovara?

Once live, no. About 40% of Indian farmers are on feature phones, and Jovara is being designed to reach them via plain IVR voice call. Smartphone users will get the same advisory through WhatsApp or the Jovara app.

What sources is the advisory grounded on?

Every advisory is grounded on the ICAR Package of Practices for the crop and region, the CIBRC pesticide registry, and the local KVK overlay, with a human reviewer in the loop for high-impact advisories.

How is Jovara different from the Kisan Call Centre?

Kisan Call Centre is reactive: farmers dial in. Volume has dropped from 58 lakh to 35 lakh queries per year because farmers do not dial when decisions are urgent. Jovara is proactive: it calls the farmer before the field event, based on weather, pest, and crop-stage triggers.

Is Jovara compliant with Indian data protection law?

Yes. Jovara is DPDP Rules 2025 compliant, AgriStack-native, and designed for state rate contracts.

How can a state department or FPO procure Jovara?
